Remote Access Trojan Using Reverse TCP Meterpreter

Lab provided by the College of Engineering and Computing at the University of South Carolina Lab Overview:

A Trojan in computer terms is a malicious software that is presented as amiable, when in reality it executes malware on the victim’s machine. Remote Access Trojan (RAT) allows the attacker to get access to the victim’s machine. This is done through a connection between the victim and the Command and Control server controlled by the attacker.

The goals of this lab are to:

  1. Understand and define RAT

  2. Use Social Engineering Toolkit (setoolkit) to create a RAT.

  3. Use setoolkit to start a C2 server.

  4. Manipulate a victim’s machine after obtaining remote access.

In this situation I will be playing the roles of attacker and victim.
